We love playing games at our house and so I thought I would check out what games were on sale for Prime Day. Amazon is doing at least 30% off on games from Exploding Kittens, ThinkFun, and many others.

It’s two days of Amazon Prime Deals (ends 6/22) which means you get to buy your favorite products and wishlist items at a discount! If you’re not an Amazon Prime Member, these games are still a great addition to your game collection, you just won’t get the discount.

However, if you would like to sign up for Amazon Prime, you can get a 30-day Trial!

In this list, I’ve included my personal top 10 high rated games that are part of the Prime Day special that I have played, found positive reviews from multiple sources and some I even own myself or are on my personal wishlist.

I tried to mix it up for those who are looking for fun games for two players, mystery whodunits, word games, or fun for the family. Lately, a personal favorite card game that’s great for kids and adults and easy to learn is Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza. It didn’t make the list however; because, it’s not a Prime Deal. But it’s still an awesome game to get for under $12.

Top 10 Rated Games on Amazon for your Game Collection

# 1 Jaipur Board Game – Two Player Trading Game

First up is Jaipur and this game has actually been on my wishlist for a while. Jaipur is made for two players and comes in a small box, which would make it great for travelling.

The storyline takes place in an Arabian marketplace and the players are competing to become a personal trader to the Maharaja by gathering more riches than their opponent.

In the marketplace, players will compete to collect and trade goods to sell them for rupees and get praise from the Maharaja. It is a fast-paced game that can be played in 30 minutes and has a lot to offer in a small box.

It has received great reviews and with all the research I’ve done for fun games for two players, this one made my personal wishlist! If you’re into a competitive and strategic game that is easy and quick to play, check out Jaipur!

#2 Gamewright Forbidden Desert – Cooperative Strategy Survival

Have you tried a cooperative game before? Wondering what that even is? Well in Forbidden Desert, you and four other team members have special skills that you’ll use to work together to find the legendary flying machine before you die of thirst or are buried alive in the desert.

This is a great play for two people as well! This was on my wishlist and I was gifted this for Christmas last year and Long and I have played every role and were able to escape every time. As you gain more experience, you can increase the difficulty level of the game.

At the end of the game you and your crew will build the flying machine and fly out of the Forbidden Desert. It has lots of reviews on Amazon and it’s another great one to add to your game collection!

Don’t care for the desert theme? Check out Forbidden Island, another Cooperative Strategy Game from the same creators based on a sinking island filled with sacred treasures!

#3 Gamewright Outfoxed – Cooperative Whodunit Board Game

Here’s another co-op game that you can play with the younger players in the family. Outfoxed is a great game to play that is easy enough for 5+ and up and entertaining enough for adults to play along.

If you like Clue, then you may like this version made by Gamewright. As a cooperative whodunit game, you and your team members will work around the board gathering clues and a special clue decoder to rule out suspects.

I love myself a good mystery game and If I had some little ones in the house, I would definitely get Outfoxed. It’s a great way to put those problem-solving skills to work and themed around animals for extra adorability!

Get this cooperative whodunit game for your little ones and see their minds tinker away as they try to solve the mystery.

#4 Hunt a Killer Death at the Dive Bar – Murder Mystery Game

Want a more mature whodunit game that makes you feel like you’re solving a real crime? Check out this game from Hunt a Killer.

This game is for more mature players 14+ and is based on a murder at a local dive bar. Players are detectives that will uncover motives, and work through ciphers, clues, and puzzles to figure out the truth behind the murder.

If you’ve ever been in an escape room, this will feel just like that. An escape room in the comfort of your own home with a crime you have to solve. Keep in mind this is a one-time play game, so once you play the game you will know whodunit.

But for an affordable price for a game that will last an hour, it is way cheaper than paying for an escape room experience. If you’re looking for a fun night with friends that feels like you’re solving a real-life murder mystery, check out Hunt a Killer Death at the Dive Bar.

#5 Throw Throw Burrito by Exploding Kittens – A Dodgeball Card Game

Did I write a dodgeball card game? Yes, yes I did. And this is one that is part of our personal game collection and is a hit with our friends.

Throw Throw Burrito is a card matching, burrito throwing wacky game that makes everyone laugh. Note of caution, keep the burrito away from the dog – personal experience here.

From the makers of Exploding Kittens, it is an easy game to understand and quick to play. You can play this with ages 7+ and have two really cute googly eyed burritos that you throw at each other.

Want to take this outside? It even comes with an outdoor edition with blow up burritos that you can throw across the lawn, how fun is that?!?!

#6 Exploding Kittens – a Russian Roulette Card Game

Speaking of Exploding Kittens, this one has over 40,000 reviews and as of this post is a best seller in deck card games. Not only that but Exploding Kittens is partnered with Best Friend Animal Society, a nation-wide “no-kill” animal rescue.

A card game with funny graphics for all the cat lovers out there and filled with strategy and betrayal. All is fair in Exploding Kittens! It’s an easy one to learn and play and it already has multiple expansion packs to ramp up the fun!

The expansion packs are not stand alone and will require the main Exploding Kittens deck in order to be played.

Imploding Kittens (1st Expansion) comes with 20 cards and a human-sized Cone of Shame. This pack also expands the main deck from 5 to 6 players.

Streaking Kittens (2nd Expansion) comes with 15 cards that change the strategic gameplay that will help you hold an Exploding Kitten without exploding!

Barking Kittens (3rd Expansion) comes with 20 new cards and a giant Cat Crown that you wear on your head to hide away a secret stash of cards.

#7 Quiddler Word Card Game

If you’re into word games and looking for something more compact, fun, and under $10, check out Quiddler.

Quiddler can be played solo or up to 10 players and played by 8+. It’s a great way to increase vocabulary and spelling and is easy and fun to learn. As someone who isn’t totally into word games, I don’t mind playing this one.

As the rounds go on, it’s really anyone’s game up until the end. If you have a word game lover in your life, consider picking this one up. Because it’s a card game, it’s portable and would be a great addition to your travels or your next camping adventure!

#8 ICECOOL – Penguin Flicking Board Game

An award winning family game by Brain Games, you get to flick penguins across the board to collect as many fish as you can.

ICECOOL is a quick game play that is entertaining for those 6+ and fun for the adults too. The game is set up in penguin school and as a “naughty penguin” you will work your way around the school to gather as many fish. But don’t let the hall monitor catch you or you lose your hall pass!

If you’re looking for a fun family friendly game with cute little wobbly pawns, check out ICECOOL!

#9 The Crew: Quest for Planet Nine Card Game – Cooperative Space Adventure

Are you a space theme lover and looking for a trick-taking card game under $15 that you can play with your friends?

The Crew is a cooperative strategy game with 50 different missions that you can accomplish in the solar system. There is a mysterious ninth planet at the end of our solar system and you and the crew are out in space to unravel the truth.

#10 Unstable Unicorns – Strategic Card and Party Game for Adults and Teens

Lately, party card games have been all the rage and it’s because they can be played by a large number of players and will make you laugh out loud.

Unstable Unicorns says that you will build your unicorn army, betray your friends, and that the unicorns are your friends now. The game was awarded the People’s Choice Award for Toy of the Year in 2019.
